Clearwater Port LNG terminal application deemed complete
Federal and state agencies initiate formal environmental review process

HOUSTON, Tex. – NorthernStar Natural Gas Inc. today announced that federal and state agencies have completed their review of Clearwater Port LLC’s deepwater port license application to own, construct and operate a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal, and have deemed it complete. The project, known as Clearwater Port, is located 12.6 miles off the coast of Oxnard in Ventura County, California. The determination – by the California State Lands Commission (CSLC), the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) and U.S. Maritime Administration (Maritime) – initiates preparation of the agencies’ joint Draft Environmental Impact Statement/Environmental Impact Report (DEIS/EIR), the comprehensive, independent assessment of the project required by state and federal law.

Clearwater Port to hold itself to higher air quality standards
Letter to agencies outlines voluntary commitment to meet local air rules

HOUSTON, Tex. – NorthernStar Natural Gas Inc. today announced that its Clearwater Port project – an offshore liquefied natural gas (LNG) importation terminal proposed for 12.6 miles off the coast of Ventura County, California – will not ask the relevant permitting agencies to analyze the project as if it were located in the “Unclassifiable / Attainment” area associated with the Channel Islands. The commitment was made in a letter to the Environmental Protection Agency and the Ventura County Air Pollution Control Board (VCAPCD) today.

HOUSTON – NorthernStar Natural Gas Inc., announced today that Joe Desmond, former chairman of the California Energy Commission, has joined the company as senior vice president for external affairs. Desmond, who recently played a leading role in the passage of landmark legislation to lower greenhouse gas emissions, will provide NorthernStar with counsel and guidance as the company seeks to develop environmentally safe, sensitive importation terminals in California and Oregon. He will be based in the company’s San Francisco office.

Clearwater Port files Updated Deepwater Port Application

OXNARD, Calif. – Clearwater Port announced today that it has filed June 30th an updated application for a Deepwater Port License with the U.S. Coast Guard and the California State Lands Commission, the lead agencies in the permitting process.
